Check out this Sakae SD1465BESR, 6.5x14, beech snare drum. It features a 9-ply beech shell, diecast hoops, silky oak outer ply, union lugs, stainless steel tension rods, and proprietary strainer and snare wires. Sakae was a widely unknown giant in the percussion industry, making the majority of Yamaha's high-end drums, for many years. Sakae started making drums in 1925, and ceased operation in 2017, after operating in the red for an extended time. When you look closely at Sakae drum shells and hardware, you can see the additional attention to detail and quality. The chrome plating is extra fine, and the finishes are ultra-smooth.
