Matt's father, Louis A, built three custom guitars from scratch.  For most, this would be an impossible task to complete, but not for Lou!  Back in the 80's, he built a 26-foot fiberglass sailboat, from scratch.  So when Lou set out to build guitars, it wasn't a question of could it be done, but a question of how beautiful and functional could he make them.  Well, all three guitars turned out gorgeous and quite playable.

Here is the first guitar Lou made.  "One" has maple sides, back and neck, pine top, and rosewood fingerboard. Notice the handmade "F" logo, shaped from solid brass.

The second guitar, "Two", was made for Matt.  Lou made some changes to the design of the inner-body construction, including the addition of carbon fiber at strategic spots.  Other refinements include a spruce top, ebony fingerboard, tailpiece and bridge, holly binding, and three-piece neck made of maple and padauk wood.  Notice the "Flacche" logo, carved from genuine ivory.

"Three" was Lou's fanciest creation.  The block of wood, used to create the back of the body, alone cost hundreds of dollars.  This guitar was created for Matt's brother, Louis C, who is an expert guitar player, teacher and technician.  Louis A and C worked together during the final stages of this build, to make sure it was the most playable archtop guitar possible.  Take note of the fine spruce top, sleek ebony fingerboard, tailpiece and pickguard, padauk binding, and ultra-figured sides and back.
