This is not your typical snare drum. British Drum Company is a relatively young maker of fine musical instruments. Their attention to quality and detail is truely impressive. This is one of their innovative examples, the Big Softy. This 6.5x14 snare drum features a 9-ply shell, 7 plies of ochroma (balsa wood) with inner and outer plies of cherry. Other features include diecast hoops, Palladium lugs, Palladium MK1 strainer, rounded bearing edges, and brass snare wires.
